The arrow was already pointing up for Danielle Jossinet after a memorable 2017/18 season that included a 10th-place finish at nationals, the Gryphon Cross Country MVP award and a well-deserved trip to St. Gallen, Switzerland to represent Canada at the World University Cross Country Championship. Jossinet built on those fantastic achievements this past fall. The fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student was sixth at the OUAs, helping the Gryphon women to a team silver medal. But Jossinet bettered that result at nationals in Kingston, ON, placing fourth in a time of 28:11.8. The women took the team bronze and the veteran Gryphon was named an All-Canadian once again.

“Danielle is a killer when the heat is on,” said head coach Dave Scott-Thomas. “She showed magnificent composure staying in the chase pack for the first half and then climbing her way up into the First Team All-Canadian position and genuine medal shot. Danielle has been good before. Now, she has moved into great.”
