Nurse, a native of Hamilton, Ontario, made her Olympic debut in PyeongChang in 2018, helping the Canadian women's hockey team capture the silver medal. Recently, Nurse was named to the roster for the 2022 games in Beijing, officially giving her the title of two-time Olympian.
Prior to her success at the international level, Sarah Nurse put together a decorated collegiate career in the NCAA where she helped lead the University of Wisconsin's women's hockey team to Frozen Four appearances in each of her four seasons with the Badgers (2013 to 2017).
Outside of her success on the ice, Nurse has also made a lasting impact off the ice, where she has emerged as one of country's most important voices when it comes to addressing racism in hockey, as well as growing the game at the professional level for female hockey players, with Nurse serving as a board member for the PWHPA (Professional Women's Hockey Player Association).
She comes from an incredibly athletic family, which includes her cousins Darnell Nurse (now in his seventh season with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers) and Kia Nurse (one of Canada's most decorated women's basketball players as a two-time Olympian, two-time NCAA champion at UConn and WNBA All-Star).
